VIDEO. Armavir Police Uncover Drug Trafficking Incidents; 2 Individuals Arrested

As a result of extensive operative-investigative measures, detectives from the Armavir Police Department received information that a resident of the Argavand village in the Armavir region was selling drugs to various individuals, according to the Police website.

As a result of the measures taken, two men were brought to the department from the Aknašen and Parakar villages in Armavir region, along with their vehicles. During personal searches and inspections of the vehicles, various quantities of a marijuana-like green substance were discovered, weighing over 25 grams in total.

The Armavir criminal detectives operatively established that the marijuana-like substances were sold by the resident of Argavand for 20,000 and 30,000 drams. He was located and taken to the Armavir department on suspicion of drug trafficking. During his personal search, further marijuana-like substances were also found.

Within the framework of the initiated criminal case, charges were brought against the resident of Argavand, after which he was detained. Operative-investigative measures continued; Armavir criminal detectives had information that the Argavand resident had also purchased drugs for 4,000 to 5,000 drams from a 76-year-old fellow villager, at whose home a search revealed cannabis seeds and a marijuana-like substance. The retiree was also charged and has been detained.

Other searches conducted within the framework of the initiated criminal case revealed cannabis seeds and bullets for a pistol. Expert examinations have been appointed. Operative-investigative measures and investigative actions are ongoing.
