VIDEO: Murder in Yerevan

On May 8, 2021, at 07:25 AM, the police department of Nor Nork received a report from the “Heratsi 1” hospital complex that a male born in 1982 was admitted with gunshot wounds from Moldovan Street in Yerevan.

Upon arriving at the scene, the investigative-operational group discovered the body of a man born in 1984 at the intersection of D. Malyan and Moldovan streets. The body had circular wounds on the front surface of the chest and at the angle of the left scapula on the back surface, scratches on the right temple, as well as four 7.62 mm caliber bullets, two bullet cases, five cartridge casings, two gas pistol cartridges of 9 mm caliber, and a submachine gun magazine.

A criminal case has been initiated in the Investigative Division of Avan and Nor Nork Administrative Districts of the Yerevan Investigative Committee, and the preliminary investigation has been assigned to an investigative group. Several expert examinations have been appointed. Necessary investigative and other procedural actions are being carried out to clarify all the circumstances of the case, as well as the identity of the person(s) suspected of committing the alleged crime.

Note: The individual suspected or accused of the alleged crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedure established by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia, by a court decision that has entered into legal force.
