One of the Suspects in the Murder of 'Shengavit's K'yazh Ashot' Detained in Yerevan

Days ago, officers from the Main Department of Criminal Police of the Police of the Republic of Armenia, in cooperation with the Criminal Investigation Division of the Yerevan Police, detained 25-year-old Kamo Khachatryan, a resident of Talin, from the yard of one of the buildings on Zakyan Street in Yerevan. He had been on the wanted list since June 2020 for charges under parts 6 and 7 of Article 104 and part 1 of Article 235 of the RA Criminal Code, as reported by Shamshyan.com.

According to the website, the criminal case was initiated regarding the murder of 28-year-old Ashot Petrosyan, nicknamed 'K'yazh Ashot'. Previously, the website had reported that within the framework of the criminal case initiated by the Investigative Committee of Yerevan's Shengavit Investigation Division under parts 6 and 7 of Article 104 (murder committed in a manner dangerous to many lives by a group of individuals or an organized group) and part 1 of Article 235 (illegally carrying, keeping, or using weapons and ammunition), the Shengavit Division of the police was searching for 24-year-old David Tadevosyan, 31-year-old Tigran Hakobyan, 30-year-old Konstantin Hunanian, 30-year-old Samvel K'rmoyan, 24-year-old Kamo Khachatryan, and 22-year-old Hamlet Torosyan.

The suspects were wanted for the murder of Ashot Petrosyan, committed using firearms in the yard of the building at 9 May 9th Street in Shengavit administrative district on June 9.
