Hostility and Anti-Armenianism: Aliyev's Speeches Sent by Armenia's Ombudsman to International Bodies
The speeches of Azerbaijan's president, which are indicative of the politics of xenophobia and hostility, have been sent by Armenia's Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan to the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, the Council of Europe’s Committee on Racism and Intolerance, the UN and Council of Europe Human Rights Commissioners, and several other international bodies. This information was published by Tatoyan on his Facebook page.
This time, Tatoyan highlighted the speeches of the Azerbaijani president from April 2021.
“In the forwarded speeches, the Azerbaijani president speaks in a language of power and threats, using words that diminish the dignity of the entire Armenian people, all residents of Armenia and Artsakh, fostering an intimidating atmosphere, creating tension within Armenian society, and emphasizing the superiority of the Azerbaijani people,” wrote Tatoyan.
He also informed that this process initiated by the Armenian Human Rights Defender will be ongoing, with particular monitoring of the speeches and messages from the Azerbaijani president.
Tatoyan notes that the aim of Armenia’s Human Rights Defender is to demonstrate the genocidal nature of the policies of the Azerbaijani authorities, which lead to gross violations of human rights, present serious threats of new atrocities, and endanger peace and security.
