Final Bell: Ministry of Education Calls to Exclude Any Fundraising

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia has addressed a circular letter to the Yerevan Municipality and the regional administrations of Armenia, suggesting that educational institutions under their jurisdiction organize the "Final Bell" event for graduating classes on June 4 outdoors, if possible.

The circular also proposes limiting the number of participants to the event, in accordance with the requirements of the order N 24-N issued by the Minister of Health of Armenia on September 18, 2020.

The ministry has also called for the exclusion of any fundraising activities, regarding which relevant reports have already been received. A similar letter has been sent to the directors of educational institutions under the authority of the Ministry of Education.

Deputy Minister Zhanna Andreasian reiterated that all anti-epidemic rules must be observed while organizing the "Final Bell" event due to the pandemic. "Especially in recent years, the general policy of the Ministry of Education is to steer clear of unnecessary extravagance and to focus more on the essence of the 'Final Bell' as a culmination of the educational process. When we talk about rethinking the educational process, one important component is not at all the material aspect," noted the deputy minister.
