Karen Kirakosyan Included in Housing Provision Queue for Military Personnel with Support from Ombudsman

All citizens drafted for compulsory military service, regardless of which state body's forces they served in, should benefit from the same, equal privileges. This was stated by the Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan, on his Facebook page.

“With this approach, the result of the work of the Human Rights Defender was that Karen Kirakosyan, who served in the police force and acquired a disability during his service, was included in the housing registration queue within the Defense Ministry system.

Due to the complexity of the issue, the process did not take a short time within the Human Rights Defender's office. A decision was made regarding the presence of a human rights violation. During the implementation phase of the decision, effective and sustained work with our partners from the Defense Ministry and the Police ensured the restoration of his rights,” he added.
