Defense Minister is Approached for Meetings on Captive Issues, Replies They Are Not Engaged: Abrahamyan
Defense Minister is approached regarding meetings on captive issues, and replies that they are not engaged. Let’s accept that this is being handled by the National Security Service. And what then? Do you not see any connection with all this, do you not consider yourself responsible?
This was stated by Tigran Abrahamyan, the head of the ‘Henaket’ analytical center, on his Facebook page.
“Individuals captured in Azerbaijan—whether they are conscripts, reservists, or volunteers—should be a top priority in your focus. To put it bluntly, you organized the mobilization, resulting in these individuals being on some front line and captured under various circumstances. Yet, oddly, you seem so careless that you even reject meeting requests from lawmakers, I am sure without clarifying the reasons behind it.
Tomorrow, in another situation, you will act the same way toward others, that’s just your nature. The same goes for the incident in Aravus village, regarding a shepherd and the Azerbaijani soldiers. Varshak Harutyunyan, you casually talk about whether you know that the shepherd was near their positions. Do you understand that these people’s homes are already close to Azerbaijani positions? These individuals are engaging in various negotiations with Azerbaijanis daily to grow crops, graze livestock, and walk in their village peacefully.
Yet you justify the incidents more diligently than the Azerbaijanis, boasting that there are no casualties, and in this case, the shepherd was to blame. You then add that there will be a demarcation process and it will be resolved. When will that be? Who do you think you’re fooling? Is that process going to happen so quickly? The process with neighboring Georgia has been ongoing for 25-30 years and is still not finished. And this is in a situation where we are not at war or enmity with that country.
Do you have any understanding of how long that process with the Azerbaijanis will take if it even begins? Under their rule, people will remain alone with their troubles, issues, and lack of security for years. Their departure is the only alternative; anyone who does not realize this will, at some stage, feel the full weight of the situation on their own skin,” wrote Abrahamyan.
