Armenia Has an Offer to Receive Novavax and Johnson & Johnson Vaccines

Through the COVAX Facility initiative, Armenia has an offer to receive Novavax and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. According to Armenpress, this was stated by the Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan during an online discussion.

“We do not know the exact time frame for when we will receive the vaccines, as there are currently very few vaccines worldwide, and all countries are competing to acquire them as quickly and in as large a quantity as possible. This has primary health significance, but the economic and political components are also important. We are already seeing that in countries where widespread vaccinations have been conducted, the incidence of disease decreases rapidly,” said Avanesyan.

Currently, vaccinations with AstraZeneca are being administered to individuals aged 18 and older in Armenia on a voluntary basis, according to demand. The Sputnik V vaccinations are intended for atrisk groups, particularly healthcare workers aged 18 to 54, chronic patients aged 18 to 54, and residents and staff of social care centers aged 18 to 54.

Starting May 10, the Chinese CoronaVac vaccine will be available to citizens.
