Pre-election Tensions in the CPP: Pashinyan Decides to Include Businessmen in the List, Says 'No Offense'

The newspaper "Pats" reports: "Indeed, discussions about early elections can only genuinely take place on May 10, however, political forces are intensively preparing for the election start. During these days, almost all political forces intending to participate in the elections are busy with the formation of their electoral lists.

Essentially, only the leaders of the political entities are aware of these lists, but various names are already 'leaking' out. The ruling political force's 'upper echelon' is also engaged in these preparations.

According to information from "Pats," this process is not going smoothly, as Nikol Pashinyan recently stated during a meeting with his team that "there should be no offense, but, of course, some people will be at the lower part of the list; not everyone will fit at the top." The matter is that Pashinyan intends to include several representatives from business circles associated with the authorities in his list, and there are agreements that they should be in the first twenty.

According to our source, this fact has been quite painful for some current MPs, as the majority of them will evidently occupy 'low' positions on the list and, most likely, will not enter the parliament.

We also have information that the recent reports circulating in the media about shouting and scuffles at the CPP headquarters are directly connected to these processes. It is noteworthy that this incident is not an exception, and similar cases and incidents are recorded regularly, perhaps not at the level of 'scuffles.'

Let’s add that the general atmosphere in regional structures is not any less tense either."
