Pashinyan's Decision Not to Step Down Closes All Paths to Justifications
Head of the 'Henkakit' analytical center, Tigran Abrahamyan, wrote on his Facebook page: 'Supporters of this government must understand well that if today they justify the handing over of 75% of Artsakh to Azerbaijan, the death of our 5,000 compatriots, the captivity of hundreds of people, the disappearance and disability of others, then one day they will also try to justify the complete handover of Artsakh, the threatening processes taking place in Syunik, the new victims, and the overall Turkification of Armenia. It doesn't matter at all whom the authorities will target today or whom they will blame; it's a matter of today's political conjuncture. One day the army is the target, the next day it's the opposition, the third day it's the people... In short, they can always direct arrows in any direction, but one simple thing must be understood: the government is responsible for all events occurring from the first day of its tenure until its last day.
If Pashinyan realized six months or even a year after assuming the post of Prime Minister that under the existing conditions he could not negotiate, could not conduct a war, and could not manage a system, then he had one path - simply to step down. His decision not to leave closes all paths to justifications. Of course, honesty and morality have nothing to do with people like them, but that does not mean that they can stand in front of any microphone or camera with arrogant, expressionless faces or frothing mouths and justify themselves. Every citizen of our country must understand that if today they are trying to blame the war, the coronavirus, the economic crisis on others, fleeing from responsibility and guilt, then tomorrow they will behave in the same way regarding other threats and tragedies that await the country. Those who do not recognize this simple truth should expect their moment, which, due to the government's policies, could lead to developments that threaten their homes, destroy their lives, and make their existence meaningless.'
