Armenia's Foreign Ministry Response to Latvia's Recognition of the Armenian Genocide
We welcome the adoption of the resolution recognizing the Armenian Genocide by the Parliament of Latvia. This is yet another step towards the universal recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide.
This resolution is important not only in terms of historical justice and truth but also from the perspective of preventing such crimes in the future. The universal recognition of the Armenian Genocide is one of the crucial guarantees for the security of the Armenian people in the region.
We share the position of the Latvian Parliament that the recognition of such crimes aims to build a future where human rights are respected, and every individual can be free, safe, and secure.
