Serzh Sargsyan Responds to Levon Ter-Petrosyan

The office of the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, has responded to the statement made by the first President, Levon Ter-Petrosyan.

“In response to the public statement of the first President of the Republic of Armenia, Levon Ter-Petrosyan, we note that it is surprising that Levon Ter-Petrosyan made this announcement without prior notification to the other party involved in the meeting. At the same time, we remind that during the meeting of the former leaders of Armenia and Artsakh, the third President of the Republic of Armenia expressed a position that discussions of the proposals made by the first President of the Republic could be considered promising and effective, provided that there is a principled agreement among all parties,” reads the response from the office of the third President.

Regarding the proposal made by the first President today to participate together in the upcoming parliamentary elections, we remind that the Republican Party, led by the third President of Armenia, recently made and published its decision on participation in the elections, as well as regarding the format.

Serzh Sargsyan's stance is that in the current situation, it is necessary to choose an effective strategy for solving the problem, and therefore, the struggle against the capitulating authorities can be carried out in various formats,” the response from the office states.
