Peacekeepers Clear Approximately 2076 Hectares in Artsakh

Specialists from the International Humanitarian Demining Center of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation continue their demining and detection of explosive hazards in Nagorno-Karabakh. This information was reported by the official website of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

In just one day, Russian peacekeepers cleared 5 hectares of land, 2 kilometers of roadway, and 11 buildings.

"In total, since November 23, 2020, 2,076 hectares of land, 637.3 kilometers of roads, and 1,754 buildings have been cleared of unexploded ordnance, including 30 socially significant facilities, with 25,606 explosive objects identified and neutralized," the message states.

According to a decree issued by the President of the Russian Federation on November 10, 2020, Russian peacekeepers have been deployed in Nagorno-Karabakh. The main contingent consists of the 15th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Central Military District. The commander of the peacekeepers is Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov.
