Human Rights Defender to Send Urgent Report to International Bodies on Azerbaijani Perceptions
Arman Tatoyan, the Human Rights Defender of Armenia, stated on his Facebook page: “The park of killed Armenian soldiers and chained captives in Baku: a museum of human suffering and a promotion of racism.” This is the title I gave to this new urgent report (in English) by the Human Rights Defender of Armenia.
This report addresses the impact that the park opened in Baku on April 12, 2021, has had on Azerbaijani perceptions. Below are a few examples of these perceptions:
- They tied the Vazgenians like dogs so they wouldn’t escape.
- Thanks to those who worked and prepared these models. All the characteristics typical of the base, shameless, immoral, treacherous, crafty, and torturer types have been depicted with utmost precision.
- The Military Trophy Park serves as a sermon for revanchists, a lesson, and yet another warning about the “Iron Fist.”
- The next stop: Yerevan, Zangezur, Goycha (Sevan).
- I wish this display of destruction and models lasts long-term because future generations must recognize the enemy of the nation and remember it with hatred.
- Friends, tell me, what do the eyes of the shameless on these models look like, no matter how big they are? Long live the creators. It seems they are afraid of the arrival of a drone.
- In the case of the second model, our President’s correct words apply: “What are you hiding like a rat here and there?” and so on.
In this report, specific statements from users, including public figures, have been included. It explicitly shows with concrete evidence—videos and photos—that the park is yet another source of anti-Armenianism and hostility that has state-sponsored backing.
The report also presents public condemnations from international bodies and media regarding the park.
This report from the Human Rights Defender of Armenia will be sent to international organizations, with special emphasis on the decades-long political campaign of hatred and enmity propagated by the Azerbaijani authorities, which has led to torture and atrocities during the war and now absolutely disrupts peace and harmony in the region.
