COVID-19 Patient Jumps from Hospital Window in Yerevan
A tragic incident occurred overnight at one of the COVID-19 treatment centers in Yerevan, according to the Ministry of Health of Armenia. A 77-year-old patient jumped out of the hospital window.
The man had been hospitalized since April 17. He was in the room with his wife, who was receiving inpatient care for COVID-19 at the same medical facility.
Medical professionals assessed the patient's health condition as moderate. Throughout the treatment, there were no issues, and the man followed all medical instructions, receiving appropriate care.
During his treatment, specialists did not record any mental disturbances. Police are currently working at the scene to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
It is noteworthy that studies indicate COVID-19 can have a significant impact on the mental health of patients diagnosed with the virus. Patients who already have health issues related to mental health are particularly vulnerable.
