Fire Source Discovered in Children's Railway Tunnel

Currently, the area is filled with smoke, and the tunnel is entirely covered in smoke, with wires burning. This was stated by Arthur Voskanyan, head of the firefighting and rescue operations organization division of the Emergency Situations Ministry's rescue service, during a conversation with reporters.

It should be noted that the tunnel leading to the Children's Railway, located in the adjacent park on Saryan Street, is engulfed in smoke. Black smoke has enveloped the entire neighborhood.

According to Voskanyan, a reconnaissance operation is currently underway. “The fire source has been identified, we are reallocating forces to conduct salvage operations. There must have been a high voltage that ignited due to the heat. Fire suppression efforts are ongoing at this time. In about 10 minutes, we will begin salvage operations. The reconnaissance team will report, and a decision will be made,” he said, adding that there are 30 wires of 6,000 volts.

He also noted that the entire area has been disconnected from electricity. A representative from the Emergency Situations Ministry reported that the alarm was received approximately 2.5 hours ago.

At the scene is also Karen Harutyunyan, the chief director of the Electricity Distribution Company, who mentioned that these wires serve as a supplementary power source for the entire small center. “However, we have another alternative source, and everyone should be supplied now. It has been very quick to switch to alternative power. There is no cause for concern,” he stated. Meanwhile, one resident announced that the electricity has been off since 5 a.m. and has not yet been restored.
