Karo Paylan's Response to Threat from Turkish MP

Karo Paylan, an Armenian MP from Turkey's opposition pro-Kurdish People’s Democratic Party, has responded to a threatening statement made by independent Turkish MP Ümit Özdağ, as reported by Ermenihaber.

“The creature with the mindset of exterminating my people says that we will be exterminated again. You shot, and we died. However, those who survived have not ceased to fight for justice, and they will not stop even after me,” Paylan stated, continuing, “The conscientious majority of this country has not left the arena to fascists like you, and it will not leave it.”

Several party members have expressed their support for Paylan while criticizing Özdağ.

It is worth noting that Özdağ threatened Paylan in response to the latter's tweet regarding the 106th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, referencing the infamous Ottoman official Talat Pasha’s involvement in genocidal actions. “If you’re not satisfied, go to hell. Talat Pasha did not exile patriotic Armenians, but those who stab from behind like you. When the time comes, the same will happen to you,” the nationalist figure wrote.
