Marukyan Considers It Highly Likely That US President Will Use the Term 'Genocide'

The head of the parliamentary faction 'Enlightened Armenia', Edmon Marukyan, considers it highly likely that US President Joe Biden will use the term 'genocide' in his address on April 24. Marukyan stated this during a conversation with reporters.

"I consider it very likely that President Biden will use the word 'genocide' this time. We remember that a year ago, the US House of Representatives and Senate recognized and condemned the Armenian Genocide. It was stated that this is at the legislative level, and the US executive has not yet recognized it," said Marukyan.

The deputy noted that if Biden uses the term genocide, it would mean that the US has fully recognized and condemned the Armenian Genocide. Media reports suggest that during a conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on April 23, President Biden indicated that he is prepared to use the term 'Armenian Genocide.'
