I Don’t Want to Comment on What He Said, My Logic is Hurt: Mayor of Meghri on Pashinyan
Yes, there is concern among residents in Meghri regarding the possibility of giving a corridor to Azerbaijanis, and I have repeatedly urged the authorities to provide explanations to dispel these fears; however, there has been complete silence, which has led to these incidents. This was stated by the Mayor of Meghri, Mikayel Zakaryan, in an interview with News.am near the courthouse today, April 24.
In response to a comment that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that if they want a corridor through Meghri, then we can also want a corridor through Nakhichevan, Zakaryan said, “I don’t want to comment on what he said; my logic is hurt. I am saddened by this situation because for me, the person holding that position is the supreme commander, and he is saying such illogical things. Who would let him benefit from the Nakhichevan corridor? What is planned with this? I see no justification. He says, ‘they are saying, you also say,’ but saying is not enough. We already learn from the press that they are building a railway, having ordered 45 electric locomotives from Kazakhstan. There are real preparations on their side, while from our side, we only have bare statements.”
