Armenia Has Paid a Significant Price for Freedom, Says Central American Parliament President Carolina Fernandez
The Armenian people have long sacrificed many lives to preserve their millennia-old culture, language, religion, and to survive. After paying tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide at the Tsitsernakaberd memorial, Central American Parliament President Carolina Fernandez expressed her support for the Armenian people in her speech.
“On the Day of Commemoration of the Armenian Genocide, we stand with you. The word freedom, 'libertad,' is one of the best words in the world, with a broad meaning. It is the human capacity for individuals to act independently and not to wish to be subjugated by others. Nations and peoples have paid a high price for freedom, costing them human lives, pain, and suffering. Armenia, like Central America, has paid a significant price for freedom. In our case, it has cost the lives of thousands of people who were killed during civil wars. In Armenia's case, millions have died to preserve their thousand-year culture, language, religion, and to survive. Both Armenia and Central America have had a geographically rich position, which has awakened envy among others, that is why we have paid a high price for freedom,” Carolina Fernandez emphasized, highlighting her desire for the restoration of peace, justice, and truth.
