US Ambassador John Sullivan Not Planning to Follow Russian Recommendations and Return to the US

Sources from the US diplomatic circles confirm that US Ambassador to Russia John Sullivan is not planning to return to his country for consultations. This proposal was made to him during a conversation at the Russian Foreign Ministry on April 16. This was reported by ntv.ru, referencing Axios.

Last week, Sullivan was invited to meet with Yuri Ushakov, assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, who advised the American diplomat to return to Washington to analyze the situation and conduct consultations with the Biden administration.

It is noteworthy that recently Russia announced its response to new US sanctions. The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that Russia would indefinitely close the entry of eight high-ranking American officials into the country. Additionally, the Russian Federation intends to ban the activities of American foundations and NGOs in the country that are controlled by the US State Department and other American governmental agencies.
