International Conference Denying Genocide to Be Held in Turkey

An international conference denying the Armenian Genocide will be held in Turkey on April 20, organized under the auspices of the Turkish presidency. According to a statement released by the public relations office of the Turkish presidency, the conference will consist of three different panel discussions, each with its own leaders and topics, as reported by Ermenihaber.am.

The first panel will be titled "The Events of 1915 and the Armenian Question in Historical Context" and will be led by Yusuf Sarı, the rector of the Economic and Technical University of the Union of Turkish Palaces and Stock Exchanges. One of the main speakers of this panel will be Seyit Sertçelik, a top advisor to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is known for organizing several conferences that deny the genocide.

The second panel, titled "The 1915 Events from the Perspective of International Law," will feature lawyers such as David Soltzman, who provided legal services to the Turkish side during lawsuits opened by Armenians in the United States, among others.

The third panel discussion, titled "The Impact of the 1915 Events on Our Times and Future Prospects," will include participation from Ergun Kirlikovalı, a former president of Turkish-American organizations, and Christian Johannes Heinrich, director of the Center for Southeastern European and Caucasus Studies (Germany), among others.

It is noted that representatives from the United States, Russia, Germany, France, and Ireland will also participate in the conference, in addition to Turkey.
