The Date for Presidential Elections in Syria Has Been Announced

Today, following an extraordinary session of the Syrian Parliament, it was announced that the presidential elections in the country will be held on May 26. The process for candidate nominations will begin tomorrow, on April 19, according to RIA Novosti.

"It has been decided that the presidential elections for all Syrian citizens will take place on May 26. For Syrian citizens located outside the country, the elections will be held at diplomatic mission facilities on May 20, from 07:00 to 19:00 local time. The registration of candidates starts on Monday, April 19, and will last for ten days," the announcement during the parliamentary session stated.
