Peacekeepers Have Cleared 1997 Hectares in Artsakh, Russian Defense Ministry

Specialists from the International Mine Clearance Center of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation continue their work on mine clearance and the detection and neutralization of explosive ordnance in Artsakh. According to Armenpress, this information is reported by the official website of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

In a single day, Russian peacekeepers cleared 7 hectares of land, 1 kilometer of road, and discovered 4 explosive objects. Overall, since November 23, 2020, a total of 1,997 hectares, 618 kilometers of road, and 1,716 buildings – including 30 social infrastructure facilities – have been cleared of unexploded ordnance, with 25,571 explosive objects identified and neutralized.

This work is conducted following the order of the President of the Russian Federation on November 10, 2020, which deployed the Russian peacekeeping forces in Artsakh. The core of the peacekeeping forces consists of the 15th separate motorized rifle brigade of the Central Military District, commanded by Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov.
