Serzh Sargsyan Responds to Alexander Lukashenko's Statement: 'Minsk Would Soon Be Revealed as an Ancient Azerbaijani City'

Recently, during a working visit to Baku, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stated that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev had asked him to convey to the Armenians the message that the Nagorno-Karabakh issue should be resolved peacefully. However, he claimed that the Armenian leadership prior to Prime Minister Pashinyan had rejected this offer.

NEWS.am requested a comment from the Office of the Third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, regarding Lukashenko's statement. Below is the response provided by Sargsyan's office:

“With great respect for the Belarusian people, I would not wish them to ever have such a 'peace-loving' neighbor, as it would soon be revealed that Minsk is an ancient Azerbaijani city and the Belarusian people, in fact, do not even exist. Therefore, the 'historic justice' according to Aliyev should be restored in that territory, with all the ensuing consequences.

Those seeking the truth can simply remove from the internet the years of publicly voiced anti-Armenian, militaristic statements made by the 'peace-loving' Aliyev and draw their own conclusions. I suggest sending the compiled thick package to Alexander Lukashenko to align his and his good friend Ilham's views on humanistic concepts of peace.”
