Commander of Emergency Situations Operational Group Injured by Mine Explosion in Artsakh's Jragark Region

During a search operation in the Jragark region (Kend Horadiz area) of Artsakh, an explosive mine injury was sustained by T.H., the commander of the rapid response special unit of the State Emergency Service, today at noon. The information was reported by NEWS.am citing the Emergency Situations Service of Artsakh.

The incident resulted in T.H. sustaining injuries to his right foot. Azerbaijani soldiers provided first aid at the scene, after which the search and rescue team transported him to the Republican Medical Center in Stepanakert. According to the information received from doctors, his life is not in danger, and he is currently undergoing surgery.

This incident marks the third case of injuries occurring during search and rescue operations after the ceasefire. The first incident took place in the direction of Vorotan, where our Armenian partners were injured from a mine explosion, followed by another instance involving rescuers from the Martakert regional division in the Talish-Mataghis sector. Fortunately, there have been no reported fatalities.

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Karen Saroyan, the Director of the State Emergency Service, Mekhak Arzumanyan, and other responsible officials from the system have visited the Republican Medical Center.
