Approximately 25 Tons of Rockfalls Damage Gas Pipelines Supplying Nurnus Village in Kotayk Province

At around 5:50 PM, the Abovyan Emergency Response Center received an alert that a rockfall had damaged the gas pipeline supplying Nurnus village, resulting in a gas leak.

Emergency responders from the Abovyan center quickly arrived at the scene and first halted the gas supply. Currently, an operational group from the Kotayk regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, led by group leader Gegham Ghazaryan, is attempting to take measures to partially remove the several tons of rock that have fallen near the road. There is also a risk that other loose rocks may fall, as they have been weakened by rainwater.

Fortunately, no vehicles were passing through the area at the time of the rockfall, and there are no reported injuries. Meanwhile, the Abovyan Emergency Response Center is in the process of repairing the support pillars. The mayor of Nurnus, Mnacakn Gevorgyan, has also arrived at the scene.

Under the directive of Captain Arthur Petrosyan, officers from the first platoon of the second company of the traffic police, senior inspectors Levon Zazyan and Alexander Hakobyan, have also arrived to assist with the situation.
