Shooting at Azerbaijan–Iran Border
Azerbaijani border guards opened fire to detain two citizens crossing the border from Iranian territory. This was reported by Sputnik Azerbaijan, citing the country's state border service.
The incident occurred on April 4 at approximately 06:15 local time, near the Horadiz border detachment close to the village of Beyuk Bahmanli in the Fuzuli region.
The servicemen acted with a signal of alarm, and the service area was completely closed off. During the operation, one of the violators was injured, while the second one fled the scene and crossed back into Iranian territory.
The injured individual received first aid and was transported to the diagnostic center in Fuzuli (Varanda).
At the scene, two packages of narcotics weighing a total of 5.3 kg were discovered. A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident.
