Security of the Ministry of Defense Building to Be Strengthened: New Division of Military Police to be Established

The government has made an amendment to the law on the 'Military Police' to enable the protection of the Ministry of Defense's administrative complex by military police forces. This was reported by 168.am.

Before this decision was adopted, the protection and passport regime of the Ministry of Defense's administrative complex were carried out by the forces and means of a military unit. However, the Ministry of Defense has now determined that, in light of security considerations for the administrative complex, it has become necessary for the protection to be provided by military police forces.

According to the government's decision, it is proposed to fully transfer the relevant personnel of the military unit responsible for the protection of the Ministry's administrative complex and the passport regime, along with the assigned servicemen, to the Ministry of Defense Military Police system, creating the corresponding division within its structure.
