Collision of BMW and Mercedes in Yerevan; Mercedes Hits Mother and Daughter and Knocks Down Traffic Light
On April 2, a car accident involving a pedestrian occurred in Yerevan. At approximately 23:45, at the intersection of Bagratuniats and Artashisyan streets, a collision happened between a BMW X5 driven by 23-year-old Tigran Hovsepyan and a Mercedes driven by 27-year-old Martin Ter-Hovhannisyan.
According to photographer Gagik Shamshyan, as a result of the accident, the Mercedes skidded and hit pedestrians 41-year-old Varduhi Virabyan and 8-year-old Elena Sargsyan. The latter was taken to the St. Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center with injuries, while V. Virabyan was transported to the Erebuni Medical Center. The collision also caused the Mercedes to crash into the traffic light regulating the intersection, knocking it down and ending up on the sidewalk.
According to G. Shamshyan, the injured pedestrians are a mother and daughter.
