Gunshots Fired at ‘BIG’ Supermarket in Ararat Province

A remarkable incident took place in Ararat Province a few days ago. On March 22, operational information was received in the Masis division of the police from the criminal investigation department that a citizen had fired shots, breaking two windows of the ‘BIG’ supermarket located at 1/1, Street 28 in Geghanist village on March 19.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, following the operational information, police detained 19-year-old Armen Sargsyan, a resident of Yerevan, and later, following explanatory work, 22-year-old Sarkis Khachatryan, also a Yerevan resident, voluntarily presented himself to the Masis division of the police.

It was revealed that on March 19, around 02:00 AM, Sargsyan and Khachatryan were in a Mercedes vehicle, and Khachatryan fired shots towards the supermarket with a gas pistol he had with him, resulting in broken windows.

Investigations are underway within the Masis division of the police regarding the incident. The police are taking necessary measures to locate the pistol.
