Pedestrian Accident in Yerevan: 65-Year-Old Woman Dies on the Spot, Driver Flees
Today, March 31, a fatal pedestrian accident occurred in Yerevan. At around 8 PM, the driver of an unidentified vehicle hit a pedestrian woman aged between 60 and 65 near the 'Renaissance' restaurant complex on Shiraz Street. This was reported by SHAMSHYAN.com.
The injured woman died at the scene, while the driver left her helpless and fled the scene. Officers from the 8th division of the first platoon of the traffic police, led by platoon commander Arshak Saakyan, arrived at the site. Following the decision of investigator D. Martirosyan, a criminal case was initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, specifically Article 242, part 2, and Article 244, part 1.
The police and investigative division are conducting necessary operational-search and investigative actions to identify the deceased and the driver who caused the accident, as well as to locate the vehicle involved.
