Major Car Accident in Ararat Region Results in One Fatality and Four Injured
A major car accident occurred in the Ararat region, resulting in one fatality and four injuries. According to information from shamshyan.com, one of the drivers died at the scene, while his wife and three underage children were taken to the hospital.
The incident took place today around 17:30 on the 48th kilometer of the Yerevan-Yeraskh-Meghri highway. A collision occurred between a Mercedes and a Mazda vehicle. As a result of the accident, one person died at the scene, and four others were rescued from the Mazda with the help of bystanders and were transported to the 'Ararat' Medical Center.
A criminal case has been initiated based on Article 242, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (a road traffic accident resulting in a person's death due to negligence). The police and investigative department are working to identify the drivers, the deceased, and the injured parties.
Those gathered at the scene indicated that the deceased was the driver of the Mazda, while his wife and three underage children were transported to the hospital. The driver of the Mercedes voluntarily appeared at the Ararat police station after the accident.
