Ara Babloyan Visits Artsakh

The Minister of Health of Artsakh, Mikael Hayriyan, received Ara Babloyan, the scientific director of the Arabkir Medical Center in Armenia, and Hambardzum Simonian, the head of health programs of the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) in Armenia, who arrived in Artsakh for a three-day visit.

During the meeting with the Minister, the existing needs of the Artsakh healthcare system and further development plans were discussed. The visit also highlighted the ongoing training programs for Artsakh's medical staff, conducted by the AGBU and the American Association of Armenian Health Professionals (AAHPO) over the past decade, with the participation of leading specialists from the Arabkir Medical Center.

A group of specialists, including pediatric surgeon Sergey Babloyan, allergist Astghik Baghdasaryan, neurologists Biayna Sukhudyan and Mane Tadevosyan, ultrasound diagnostic anesthesiologist Zarine Minasyan, and anesthesiologist Maria Hovhannisyan, conducted examinations, consultations, and surgical interventions for children with relevant issues at the Arevik medical unit of the Artsakh Ministry of Health, as well as organized seminars for local doctors.

As part of the visit, a remote meeting-discussion was organized between the Health Minister of Artsakh, the Executive Director of the Republican Medical Center, and the Boston Armenian Medical Association. Participants of the discussion emphasized the necessity of modern medical equipment, such as the hyperbaric oxygen therapy device (HBO), which would enhance the quality of medical services.
