Georgia Proposes New Platform for Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict Resolution Without Russia
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, David Zalkaliani, has stated that it is impossible to work on a platform together with Russia regarding the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, proposing instead a Georgian model that would involve a joint platform with Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan.
The Georgian official noted that Russia has "occupied" parts of Georgian territory, and they are not planning to create a joint platform with that country. According to him, the alleged platform of "three plus three," which would include countries from the South Caucasus along with Russia, Iran, and Turkey, is unacceptable for them.
Nevertheless, he emphasized that Georgia wishes to be involved in the conflict resolution process, offering a new platform consisting of Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia. He expressed a desire for Georgia to serve as a venue for dialogue involving international partners, stating, "Georgia is the most reliable and unique partner of the West in this region."
