Arsen Torosyan Discusses When Nikol Pashinyan Will Resign and Who Will Be the Acting Prime Minister
Arsen Torosyan, the head of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's office, announced that Suren Papikyan, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, will lead the pre-election headquarters for the ruling 'My Step' alliance. This information was shared during an interview with Sputnik Armenia.
"It has been decided that four individuals will coordinate the pre-election headquarters: myself, Romanos Petrosyan, Araik Harutyunyan, and Suren Papikyan. Papikyan will be the chief coordinator, essentially the head of the headquarters," Torosyan stated.
According to him, Pashinyan is expected to resign between April 20 and May 5. However, following this resignation, he will remain as the acting Prime Minister, and the current government will continue its operations until the formation of a new cabinet.
"Currently, the elections serve the best interests of the country and are a means to alleviate political tensions," he emphasized. The snap parliamentary elections have been scheduled for June 20.
