Vazgen Manukyan Does Not Mind Not Being the Prime Ministerial Candidate of the Homeland Salvation Movement

Armenia is not ready for elections in this fragmented state; they will exacerbate the crisis rather than resolve it. This was stated today, March 26, by Vazgen Manukyan, the prime ministerial candidate of the Homeland Salvation Movement, during a conversation with several media outlets.

"We will be disgraced in front of both our own and other countries if Nikol Pashinyan leads the elections after destroying the country. It is better for him to stay a bit longer until we gather strength to oust them than for him to manage those elections. I’m not even mentioning that during the elections, he will gather a percentage of the votes, and it will turn out that there was some incident, the country was destroyed, yet they still hold their percentage. If he becomes prime minister, the entire world will laugh at us afterwards, and we won't be able to do anything after that. Therefore, I believe that the program proposed by the Homeland Salvation Movement—to change the prime minister, form a temporary government for one year, and then only move forward—is the most correct program. If the prime ministerial candidate, that is me, is not liked, let’s change it; if one year is not satisfactory, let’s shorten or extend it. If the Homeland Salvation Movement is not working effectively, then let’s change that format,” said Vazgen Manukyan.
