Strong Winds Damage Roofs of Two Buildings in Maralik

On March 25, at 16:11, the Shirak Regional Crisis Management Center received a report that strong winds had damaged the roofs of metal sheets on the first and second buildings in the second district of Maralik. A firefighting unit from the regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene.

It was found that metal sheets had been torn off the roofs of the first and second buildings due to the strong winds, damaging parked vehicles, including a Mercedes Benz and an Opel, without any injuries reported. Rescuers removed the metal sheets from the vehicles.

Earlier, at 15:54 on the same day, the Shirak Regional Crisis Management Center received another report about damage caused by strong winds to a half-collapsed house on Varpentats Street in Gyumri. A firefighting unit was also dispatched to this incident.

It was determined that the metal sheets of the roof of the half-collapsed non-residential house on Varpentats Street were damaged, posing a risk of further collapse. The building was assessed at a fifth-degree level of danger. Rescuers, with the assistance of the Gyumri Municipality's aerial platform, dismantled the wooden and metal components of the dangerous area of the roof and secured the site.
