Some Forces Have Already Made Their Choices: Kocharyan's Team Negotiates with Abrahamian
Though the issue of early elections remains uncertain, active preparatory work is underway in the political sphere, with some forces already determining their candidates for head of election headquarters. The ruling party's election headquarters will once again be led by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Suren Papikyan, similar to the 2018 elections, while the coordination of activities in the regions will also fall to the Minister of Environment, Romanos Petrosyan.
Gagik Tsarukyan has decided to hand over the same role once more to former Minister of Urban Development, Vardan Vardanian. If Arthur Vanetsyan’s 'Homeland' party decides to participate alone in the elections, it is possible that the coordination of the election headquarters may be handled by former President of the Audit Chamber, Ishkhan Zakaryan, who has similar experience, having led the Prosperous Armenia Party's headquarters in 2012 and 2017.
In 'Enlightened Armenia,' there is still no final decision, but the majority are in favor of candidate Davit Khajakyan, who gained experience in previous elections, being appointed as the head of the headquarters.
Kocharyan's team, according to some information, is negotiating with Hovik Abrahamian, who can be said to have no competitors in this matter and is irreplaceable in organizational issues. The Republican Party of Armenia’s election headquarters was led by Davit Harutyunyan in 2018; he has now almost frozen his communications with the RPA, and among the candidates for head of the headquarters is Galust Grigoryan's son, Arman Sahakyan.
