More than 10 Vehicles Collide on Yerevan-Sevan Highway Due to Black Ice
Today, on March 19, a major chain-reaction accident occurred in the Kotayk region due to black ice on the road. Around 19:40, at the 40th km section of the Yerevan-Sevan highway, vehicles including a Lexus, Toyota Land Cruiser, Mitsubishi Pajero io, Opel, UAZ, and a ZIL 130 collided in an area serviced by the Hrazdan highway maintenance.
According to shamshyan.com, fortunately, there were no casualties reported as a result of the crash, although some vehicles struck iron guardrails.
Several citizens gathered at the scene indicated that around 5-6 more vehicles had also been involved in accidents due to the icy road, but instead of waiting for the insurance companies, the drivers communicated with each other and moved their cars. They also noted that one of the causes of the accidents was the icy condition of the road.
