The Karabakh Conflict Is in the Past, We Must Look to the Future: Aliyev

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated during a meeting with the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Ann Linde that the Karabakh conflict is a thing of the past, and we must look to the future.

“Now the conflict is in the past, and we need to look to the future. Today, we discussed our views on building the future. I believe that the last four months since the war have shown both sides' desire to turn the page and focus on the future,” Aliyev said, according to RIA Novosti.

He also noted that Baku and Yerevan have already begun negotiations regarding the unblocking of transportation communications. “This is part of the statement signed on November 10. Several meetings have already taken place at various levels. This could become a turning point in completely turning the page of the war. The opening of communications will be beneficial for all countries in the region and will create new opportunities,” Aliyev's press service quoted him as saying.

Today, Aliyev received the delegation led by Sweden's Foreign Minister and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Ann Linde. Initially, there was a private conversation between Aliyev and Linde, followed by an expanded meeting.
