Charges Laid Against Two Inspectors of the Traffic Police Registration and Examination Units

Charges have been laid against two inspectors of the Traffic Police Registration and Examination Units, according to the police.

Officers from the Police Internal Security Department, in collaboration with officers from the main department of the Traffic Police, have determined through conducted measures and the results of a service investigation that one inspector from the Yerevan Registration and Examination Division facilitated the issuance of a driver's license to a citizen in violation of established procedures, by mediating with an inspector from the Armavir Registration and Examination Division.

As a result, the latter committed official forgery by evaluating the results of the citizen's practical exam as positive, despite the fact that the individual did not possess adequate knowledge, thus providing the citizen with a driver's license.

The materials from the service investigation have been sent to the Special Investigation Service, where based on the results of the pre-trial investigation, on February 26, the inspector from the Yerevan Registration and Examination Division was charged under Article 308, Part 1 of the Criminal Code for abuse of official powers, while the inspector from the Armavir Registration and Examination Division was charged under Article 314, Part 1 of the Criminal Code for official forgery.
