New Zealand's Largest City Locked Down Due to One Covid-19 Case
New Zealand's largest city, Auckland, has been placed under quarantine due to a new coronavirus case. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced this on Saturday, according to Reuters.
She stated that officials are still investigating the case of coronavirus. Next week, residents of the city will be allowed to leave their homes only to purchase groceries or perform essential work. The rest of the country is under a second-level lockdown, with large gatherings prohibited.
Earlier this month, several cases of coronavirus were registered in New Zealand, including three cases of the British variant of the virus.
