Were the New Governor of Syunik's Squad Members Involved in Stealing Livestock from a Kashatagh Resident?
A resident of the village of Dzaghkabor of the Kashatagh region, Margarita Alexanderian, reported that her livestock was stolen on October 19, 2020, during the intense days of the war, and the thieves have yet to be identified. This was reported by Hraparak.am.
In a conversation with us, she recounted that she and her children were driving the livestock out of the village. They had managed to reach the field at Khndzoresk when gunshots were heard. "I said, 'Kids, come on, let's go home; I will return for the cows later.' I left the kids in Goris and came back to drive the livestock to Goris, but when I returned, I saw that my animals were gone. Two days later, I caught someone trying to sell the cows, but there were only four livestock, two of which were mine, and two belonged to my neighbor; the rest are still missing," Margarita told Hraparak.am.
She had 28 head of livestock, of which she has only recovered two; according to her, 26 have been stolen and sold. Margarita Alexanderian also has suspicions about who stole her livestock: "I can say that my animals were stolen by the squad members of the newly appointed governor of Syunik, and they sold them to the governor's sister's son, who then sold them to the Yazidis. This is organized theft," she stated.
When asked if she had contacted the police and what they said, Mrs. Margarita replied, "I have contacted them, they said it’s wartime, and they can’t open a case. Since you're from Kashatagh, you need to go to the police there. At that time, it was war, which is why I didn’t report it. Later, I approached the Syunik governor so that we could resolve the issue through him, but it was in vain," the website reports.
