VIDEO: Illegal Assault Rifle Brought from Artsakh Found in Car
On the night of February 26, officers from the criminal investigation division of the Nor Nork Police Station received operational information that a 36-year-old man living in Yerevan had illegal weapons and ammunition in his car. This was reported by the Police.
That same day, he was located along with a friend on Gayi Avenue and was taken to the Nor Nork Police Station along with the vehicle. The operational data turned out to be credible; a factory-numbered "Kalashnikov" assault rifle, rifle magazines, and over 100 cartridges were discovered in the car.
According to the 36-year-old man, the weapons and ammunition had been brought from Artsakh in October. During a personal search, a folding knife was found in his possession, while his friend had a greenish substance resembling marijuana and droppers.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. Expert examinations have been appointed.
We urge those holding illegal weapons and ammunition brought from Artsakh to voluntarily hand them over to the police immediately to avoid criminal liability.
