Video: Citizens Voluntarily Hand Over Weapons and Ammunition Brought from Artsakh and Beyond

Recently, several cases of voluntary surrender of illegally held weapons and ammunition have been recorded at the Ararat police department. Based on information received at the National Security Service, as a result of educational work, a 61-year-old man voluntarily surrendered over 40 types of grenades, grenade fuses, and more than 4,000 rounds of various calibers of ammunition, magazines for automatic rifles, an air pistol, etc., which he had brought from Artsakh last year.

Thanks to the explanatory work of community police in Ararat, a resident of Avshar village voluntarily surrendered a "Carabin" type rifle, a grenade with a fuse, and various calibers of ammunition.

Another man called the Ararat department and reported that he had left a pistol at the entrance of the cemetery in Vedi city. A 9mm caliber pistol with its factory number erased was discovered at the location mentioned by the caller.

Another man left a "Kalashnikov" machine gun near the cemetery in Ararat city, along with a magazine and bullets with a belt, and informed the department by phone. Cases of voluntary surrender of "Kalashnikov" machine guns have also been recorded in the police departments of Vanadzor's Bazum and Gyumri's Mush, thanks to the explanatory work of the criminal detectives in those divisions.

As a result of the explanatory work of the criminal investigation units of the Talin, Vagharshapat, and Artik police departments, cases of voluntary surrender of "Kalashnikov" automatic rifles have also been recorded. In addition to automatic rifles, citizens have also surrendered magazines and ammunition of various calibers.

Thanks to the educational efforts of community police in Nor Nork, another man voluntarily handed over a "Kalashnikov" automatic rifle and ammunition. Cases of voluntary surrender of illegally held ammunition have also been recorded in the police departments of Vardenis and Nairi, where citizens brought grenades with fuses, magazines for automatic rifles, and ammunition of various calibers.

Again, it should be noted that individuals who voluntarily surrender illegally held weapons and ammunition are exempt from criminal liability. The educational work of the police continues in this context.
