Vladimir Zhirinovsky Proposes Weight Limits for Russians

The leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, has put forward a proposal to impose weight restrictions on Russian citizens and officials. According to him, the state is forced to spend large amounts of money on citizens with excess weight, including their 'treatment and diet.'

“At the same time, people who feel normal receive less money from the state. I mentioned this back in 2014, almost seven years ago. Let’s set the limit at 80 kilograms,” the politician explained during an appearance on the radio show 'Komsomolskaya Pravda.'

Regarding officials, Zhirinovsky has called for a weight norm of 100 kilograms. “An official’s weight should be 100 kilograms or less. And if it’s 120, 150, what does that mean?” the parliamentarian expressed his outrage.

As a preventive measure against obesity, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party proposed that the authorities provide advice to Russians on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
