Road Closures and Challenging Conditions Across Armenia

Road closures and difficult driving conditions have been reported across Armenia. The Berd-Jambarak highway is closed, as well as the roads from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region leading to Amberd Fortress and to Kari Lake. The Vardenyats Pass is closed for trucks with trailers, and difficult to navigate for other vehicles.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia reported that snow is falling in Martuni, Gegharkunik province, and in Tumanyan city, Lori province.

There are patches of black ice on roads in Shirak province and in the Sisian-Zanger section of Syunik province.

Fog has settled in Goris, Syunik province.

According to information received by the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs' Emergency Management Department and the North Ossetia Emergency Situations Ministry's crisis management center, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for passenger vehicles but closed for other types of transportation. Approximately 615 trucks have accumulated on the Russian side.

The RA Ministry of Emergency Situations advises drivers to travel exclusively with winter tires.
