Makunts's Agrément Sent to USA, Not Yet Confirmed but Positive Reactions Reported

According to the information from the newspaper "Zhoghavorud," it seems to be clear that the head of the National Assembly's "My Step" faction, Lilith Makunts, will be leaving Armenia and relocating to the United States.

The matter is that Makunts's agrément has already been sent to the USA for her appointment as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia there. Well-informed sources report that her agrément has not yet been confirmed, but there are positive reactions from the USA, and Makunts's biography is spotless, leading to favorable views regarding her ambassadorship.

The members of the "My Step" faction believe that Lilith Makunts will leave their ranks and depart Armenia before summer. The faction is not overly enthusiastic about this decision, as many believe Makunts has managed to find solutions to many issues as the faction leader.

It is noteworthy that in October 2018, by the decree of President Armen Sarkissian, Varuzhan Nersisyan was appointed as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the USA. Nersisyan is considered one of the closest associates of Armenia's third president, Serzh Sargsyan, which is why it appears that the authorities aim to remove him from this responsible position.
