For the Uninformed: I Took Nikol Pashinyan to Artsakh for the First Time in the Fall of 2012 on Karen Bekaryan's Advice - Farmanyan
For the uninformed, I want to say that I took Nikol Pashinyan to Artsakh for the first time in the fall of 2012, on the advice of Karen Bekaryan, as the head of the Armenian delegation to the Armenia-EU Parliamentary Cooperation Committee. This was stated by former MP Samvel Farmanyan on his Facebook page.
“Nikol was a member of that delegation. Together with Karen Bekaryan, we decided to take the Armenian delegation, especially the opposition member Nikol, to Artsakh before going to Brussels, so we could at least show him on the ground what the important issues were and where the efforts of all the delegation members should be directed during those years when Nikol was speaking loudly without seeing beyond his own nose. And we thought we solved that issue; Nikol was pleasantly surprised by many things in Artsakh. At least that’s how he appeared to be and said. Later, it turned out that it was a deception. He became Prime Minister and handed over Artsakh. But during those days in 2012, nonetheless, the thought that it was surprising how a former journalist and editor had not found the opportunity to be in Artsakh even once by the age of 37, disturbed me and Karen. Starting from 2018, I understood. We all understood,” wrote the former MP.
